Welcome to the 36th AFMRM Conference
Where Air Traffic Controllers, leaders, and innovators from across Africa and the Middle East converge to strengthen aviation’s future. Hosted by the Air Traffic Controllers’ Association of Zimbabwe (ATCAZ), this 36th IFATCA AFM Regional Meeting blends critical discussions, cultural connections, and a spectacular natural backdrop, setting the stage for progress in ATM across the region. The Meeting will run under the theme “Securing the skies: Strengthening ATM Capacity through strategic recruitment, training and retention”

Welcome to the 36th IFATCA AFM Regional Meeting 2025, hosted by the Air Traffic Controllers’ Association of Zimbabwe (ATCAZ). This annual gathering brings together ATM leaders, innovators, and professionals from across the region for a week of collaboration, learning, and forward-looking dialogue.

Travel & Visa Information
Visitors attending AFMRM2025 should plan ahead for travel, visas, and local logistics. This section provides key information on entry requirements, transportation, and health guidance to ensure a smooth and safe visit.
- Participants are advised to confirm their visa requirements with the respective
Embassies or online. - Visa Applications can be done online through the Zimbabwe Immigration
website:
www.evisa.gov.zw - Printed copies of the visas are required upon arrival.
- Please refer to the Information bulletin item 11.
i. Delegates will be provided with complimentary transport for pick-up from Victoria Falls International Airport (VFA) and drop-off at the A’Zambezi River Lodge, as well as all other hotels located along that route. This service will be provided on November 2nd.
ii. Return transport from the A’Zambezi River Lodge and all hotels en route back to Victoria Falls International Airport will be available on November 6th and 8th.
iii. Transport requested outside of these dates will be subject to a prior request and is based on availability.
5.1 The meeting will be conducted in English. Meeting materials will only be
provided in electronic format accordingly, participants are required to bring their own portable computers/laptops/tablets.
5.2 English, Shona and Ndebele are well spoken in Zimbabwe.
5.3 Direct worldwide connections are available, using the international code or telephone-operator as necessary. From outside Zimbabwe, dial “+263” followed by the area code (for landline numbers) and the required number.
5.4 There are three (3) major mobile phone (mobile) operators in Zimbabwe: Netone, Econet, and Telecel.
5.5 There shall be free Wi-Fi provided at the Conference Hotel Venue.
5.6 The meetings will be conducted in English Language and French Language with simultaneous interpretation.
